About Erni Upton

Erni was born in Ayrshire in 1936 and been an avid painter since childhood. He studied at Glasgow School of Art.

His work is influenced by the Scottish Colourists and, like them, Erni spends most of his time on the West Coast of Scotland where the wonderful ever changing light and colours allows him to draw much of his inspiration.

He works with both brush and knife; this enables him to put depth and texture into his work.
